Fitbit cheating

I have a friend who wears his fitbit on his dominant hand. When we were at dinner last weekend he confided to me that the reason he does this is because he gets extra steps for ... um ... well you know. Should I believe him? Would that even work? If so then is it cheating?

Sometimes I just feel so naive. 😐

I know a lady who got steps when knitting... 10,000 steps for sitting down making what ever you make when knitting..haha

@Jlhzfromep Knitting is what I was referring to in my initial post. How did you know? You must be some sort of Svengali.

Even if it would work, he'd only be cheating himself out of actual results
irishmolly72 · 56-60, F
@DMmeyourtits C'mon I know you've tried it.

It works :P
irishmolly72 · 56-60, F
@TheotherAndy ... you say with such confidence!!
TheotherAndy · 41-45, M
@irishmolly72 easy way to get "steps" that's for sure
If it works, then, what's the point of wearing a Fitbit???

He's just making it take longer to obtain the results that he wants - for what??? A sticker on a chart somewhere...

Ultimately, it comes down to "Is it worth it???".

@HootyTheNightOwl Isn't that a form of exercise?
@irishmolly72 Done properly, it should get your heart rate up, but you'd have to be at it like rabbits to notice any major differences from that as a form of exercise... 🤷‍♀️
He's cheating no one but himself. I don't understand why he would do this. He's not tricking his body into getting healthier.

If I wore a Fitbit when looking at your pic I’d break a world record 😍😊
irishmolly72 · 56-60, F
@Winston335 Awwwww that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me, um I guess.
Winston335 · 56-60, M
@irishmolly72 you’re very inspiring
irishmolly72 · 56-60, F
@Winston335 Actually I do believe I am the only girl in the whole history of mankind who ever received that exact compliment. I feel so unique! :)
Docdon23 · M
He may have a very strong right hand at this point--wouldn't that count??
irishmolly72 · 56-60, F
@Docdon23 Grip strength matters if you're, like, 90 years old.
Docdon23 · M
@irishmolly72 hmm...I will admit I have discovered the joys of............light and slow touch!!!
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
Why not ask him to show you how it works... 🤭😉😉😉
irishmolly72 · 56-60, F
@braveheart21 I'm sure that kind of reaction was what he was going for. UGH, men! 😌
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
Or you could try it yourself... Ask him to loan you the fit bit 😂😂😂😂😂😂@irishmolly72

Well I suppose it's still burning calories right??? 🤷‍♂️ 🤣
Teslin · M
Yes, it works. I use to have a health insurance policy that would pay up to $3/day if you reached 3 separate goals.
People in the company would just take it off their wrist and shake the Fitbit back and forth to help reach those daily goals.
irishmolly72 · 56-60, F
@Teslin Where's the fun in that?
Teslin · M
@irishmolly72 It's all about getting some cash back from expensive insurance!!

Makes a good dog collar also

Maybe he has a Shake Weight? 😅
SW-User
that’s kinda wild that it can even measure and be able to distinguish between stride and stroke
😂😂
irishmolly72 · 56-60, F
@SW-User Yes, you could even say it's a stroke of genius!

I’ve had my Apple Watch ask me if I’ve started an elliptical workout… 🙄
