Dental issues

I had a tooth break this morning. My Dentist can't get me in to work on it until the 25th of this month. I did go in and he looked at it. If you can think of some soft foods other than soup, ice cream, pasta, let me know because he told me to eat softer foods until we get the tooth repaired.

Are you sensitive to air, temperature or anything else? If not, that's a good thing. No exposed nerve means you can probably wait a couple weeks.

However, if it's causing you discomfort, it's open enough to cause an infection and that can actually be fatal. I'm NOT a dental expert, but I'm in the chair for heavy construction about 6 times a year, so I can tell you when this happens I pick up an OTC cement (you can find it in the dental aisle) and plug the hole. Dentists (mine, anyway) don't love scraping it away, but it offers reassurance until you can get there.

Good luck. No fun.

@Graylight Not having any pain at all. The dentist made an impression and ordered me an additional tooth to be added to my partial plate. The backlog is what is taking so long.

@Shannon27 I'd trust his judgment. Every single case is different, but I've known people who've waited months and months to have a cracked or broken tooth looked at.

Good luck, treat it gently and it'll be fixed in no time. Waiting on two crowns myself. 馃檮

Doesn't he have a backup dentist who can see you? He's not the only dentist in the world. I wouldn't want to wait almost two weeks.
