Killing off wild predators is a stupid idea

Some vegans suggested awhile back that killing off predators is a good idea lmao, that would be so bad. It would upset the ecological system so badly that prey animals would go extinct. Yes the vegan actually said that obligate carnivores like predators are akin to serial killers. Scary people like this exist 😱

Eliminating predators is a terrible idea from a purely ecological perspective, but in the long-term, humanity's eventually going to have the power to limit or eliminate natural animal suffering without fucking the planet we live on. And when that time comes, I sure as Hell hope that our species will have the guts to actually do it, preferably with some kind of mind uploading type of solution.

But yeah, they're wrong from a practical perspective but they're kinda right from a pure morality angle. I've watched a ton of videos of animals getting eaten alive, and while the obligate carnivore isn't at fault for obvious reasons, I'd do anything to avoid that kind of fate for myself. Nature is a tremendously evil machine based on bloodshed and suffering, and humans are more than willing to recognize this reality when it's our own necks on the chopping block; there are very few people who say we should abandon medical science or agriculture to return to the natural order.

Not any collection of vegans or activist group. Two authors.

Amanda MacAskill and William MacAskill, are — respectively — a philosophy Ph.D. student at New York University and an associate professor of philosophy at Lincoln College, part of Oxford University.

Two people hardly a quorum make.

@Graylight In your own head is what you think my point was but you're not me. I thought it was stupid a few people said that and I posted about my opinion. You act like this is more complicated than what it is.
Done blame me if you're English is imperfect.
*Don't or *Do not, both are sufficient.

"You're" should be "your" as the sentence you are English is imperfect makes no sense.

@SatanBurger Blame autocorrect for spelling errors. For not understanding how to comprehensively and authentically structure a debate point, that's on you.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Graylight If you're going to criticize my spelling, try not to be lazy.

Telling me what you think my point was isn't a debate. This is a little one sided as you seem to be mostly having it with yourself.

Now if you want to stay on the topic of whether killing predators is right or not, that would be an appropriate debate. Even though I have my facts for why it would be really bad and most likely win.

An indoctrinated mind, is a terrible thing to waste!

These damaged minds are now effecting the lives of others.

It’s all about forcing others into their own belief systems.

They are obsessed with how others want to live their lives.

Their collective, wants to suppress freedom as a means to their ends.

@Oster1 Oh I changed it, it used to be CULTure and before that SatanBurger lol.

@SatanBurger That’s so funny! I felt something and that makes so much sense. We did always get along! So nice to meet you again!😊🍦

@Oster1 You also 😊

If thta's they want, I wonder why or how those "some" are so ignorant of basic biology.

They would seem not to have progressed beyond the Infants' School classroom nature-table, but be determined to convert everyone else to their own level of ignorance.

Kill the predators and the prey will multiply beyond the ability of their environment to support them.

Few things surpass the arrogance of humans. Or the stupidity.
Add this to the 10 stupidest list!
Tjats kinda stupid and hipocritical.

Wow, people never cease to amaze me 😂

Yeah well there's a sizable number of tranhumanists/abolitionist who think it is a moral imperative we use genetic engineering to create viruses to reprogram humans and predators to become herbivores. Not all, but it's a commonly discussed and fairly widespread concept amongst that community.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@MethDozer But the same problem would still persist if predators became herbivores. There would be nothing to regulate prey animals and prey/predators alike would die of starvation out of competing from too many resources. In turn that also may affect crop growers when pests invade their farms, in turn that would also starve the human race.

Way to go, I guess that's one way of ending animal suffering through the wanton destructions of the natural ecosystem. If you're dead, you don't have to worry about animal suffering, amiright.

At any rate, you can't beat evolution. Humans try and try again but evolution and mother nature always win. Kind of like when they grew pest resistant corn and a worm evolved to eat the pest resistant corn hehe... I mean they tried I guess but the worm def. won that round 😏

@MethDozer
to create viruses to reprogram humans
Yeesh, viruses mutate no thanks lmfao.
