I'm looking at some posts today, and wondering...

How in the world are we still so divided over the seriousness of COVID-19? I don't get it 🤷‍♀️.

It’s because it happened during the election and it became a political issue instead of it actually being a health issue.
@SweetNSassy I think you’re absolutely right.
@DeluxedEdition 🤭🤭
@SweetNSassy Yep, you are right about that.

I feel like I’m being punked everyday. People I actually respected at one time are blowing my mind - one is taking ivermectin that he got at a feed store 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

@Abstraction this right here. When the fuck did all these people become experts on this?

"Stop wearing masks!!!"
"Wear a mask, even outside."
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Abstraction Precisely. This is the heart of the issue.

I’m not. Wear a mask don’t wear a mask. Get vaccinated or don’t. I treat you the same

When this started last spring, the CDC announced that the actual death count FROM Covid-19 was 7 % of the total death count. So, of 600,000 US deaths attributed TO Covid, 42,000 are actually FROM Covid. This is less that the 2017/2018 US flu season.
I have less patience now that I’ve lost people I care about to covid. I won’t go out of my way to insult anyone, but I definitely have opinions about anti-vaxxers. 🙁

@bijouxbroussard I am so sorry you have.

The entire country panicked last spring when it hit our shores.
Governors from BOTH parties shut down their states. My state governor is now hailed as a spokesperson for common sense, but last spring he shut down the economy and closed state schools, just like most of the other 49 did.
@ProfessorPlum77 I will admit that we did panic when the virus officially became a pandemic last spring.
It beats me... It seems pretty clear how dangerous it is. (I wouldn't even take my changes on its fatality, but that's only the tip of the iceberg. I would definitely not take my chances on long COVID.)

I know, it's becoming insane and I don't like it.

It's become so politicized and politics make a lot of people go berserk. It's not up to me to tell someone else what they want to do with their body (or not do.) At the end of the day that's how it should be. Yes people have strong opinions on it, but it shouldn't come between friends or family.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
If our previous president had not been such a dummy and promoted covid as being dangerous instead of a hoax and mandated masks and social distancing we would not be in the shape we are in.
@PTCdresser57 Agreed. He had an opportunity to bring people together against something that threatened everyone, and he chose to pit people against each other, instead.
I'm sick of it.

It's like religion... Every body is quoting from different sounrces, being nitpicky and downright mean.

I've decided it's just a way to find an argument.

It shows more about a person than any altruism of "correct" information being handed over.

I'm done with it it.
I just scroll by now.
People don't believe in the vaccinations until they get sick and wish they wouldn't have been so dumb.

It's driving me nuts hearing my 83 year old mom say she listens to Dr Fauci and he recommends no one gets the shots.

I'm like 'Mom, I don't think we're talking about the same Dr Fauci'. smh
