Anyone here have Dental implants?

I lost all my teeth through neglect and Bulimia.
Dentures are not the best.
When I enquired about getting a full set of implants, the cost was AU$50,000 - US$37,000
I mentioned this price to my Doctor and he said it was so the Dentist can buy his next Mercedes.
Australians are ripped of, all of the time.

I am afraid they are just as expensive everywhere. There is a lot that goes into the creation of a comfortable, well fitting set of implants.

I have some dental implants with crowns, and each one was quite expensive. It is unfortunate for sure, that most people can't afford the cost of "implanted dentures".

Well not exactly true . Your doctor didn’t have to buy Tge $100,000.00 X-ray machine ( cone beam CT) , a $10K surgical box , and the extra training .

Actually there is no such thing as a full set of implants , but rather a implant supported denture . The palate is open . Now they install a custom made bar on the implants and the denture snaps on . All that crap is very expensive to fabricate .

@Gusman yep . Factor in the cost of the office, training , and materials . The Dr spent a good portion of his life paying for school to learn it . It costs what it costs unfortunately
