Ladies have you ever pulled your hair up in a pony tail & cut it yourself?

My friend told me if I did that, my hair would be layered.
Not sure I trust her...

Yes I did it across my pony but it was a tad uneven..not layered. This year my sister cut it for me but just when it was down and wet, and it came out more even !
