Does anyone know what causes dry hair?

My hair has been incredibly dry and frizzy these last few years,

Not so much the tips or the ends,
Just near my scalp,
It's become embarrassingly obvious.

whenever I wear my hair back it looks like I've been electrocuted 🥲

It's basically crown frizz even though I have straight hair
