I don’t find body hair to be unattractive or offensive - especially if one can somehow maintain it. But I’m in the minority here, unless there is a silent majority.

It's what people are taught... like many things, it's just what is and not ever really questioned.
What I find odd is all the people who think no hair is the natural way. lol

@SW-User it must have started somewhere. And what are your personal feelings to it? Do you feel gros when you see a woman with under arm hair for example?
SW-User
@Forgetmeknot if memory serves me correctly, women were kind of shamed into shaving underarm hair when sleeveless dresses became popular. And of course, money was to be made by telling those women how they could rid themselves of shame.
I don't really care what others do and it really shouldn't matter to anyone else, unless they plan on being with the person.
I'm a bit more bothered with the idea some like their partners to look more like children and not adult men and women.

while many disagree, i totally dislike any hair in the genitalia area .. for both sexes .. it's just cleaner and better without.
Forgetmeknot · 41-45
@SW-User this is true but by that token what about leg hair, arm hair and even the hair on our head. It'd all be cleaner without hair?

@SW-User So you have no trust in others hygiene? 🧐

It's interesting that throughout history as civilizations decline they don't like pubic hair. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans shaved their genitals. The Romans used sharpened seashells. Ouch!
Forgetmeknot · 41-45
@hunkalove oh. Ok. I didn't know it went back that far.
Forgetmeknot · 41-45
@hunkalove you say as civilizations decline? So this Hollywood wax stuff could be an indication that this civilization is in decline.

I think it's an individual feeling

Hairy legs and armpits looks masculine to me
Pubic hair is just gross. Especially during oral sex.
And while men who shave there chest and back look better, I couldnt be bothered.
Just my opinions.

Cultural differences. Here, women shave their legs and under their arms. It’s very rare to see someone who does not
Forgetmeknot · 41-45
@Jenny1234 same where I live. I shave under my arms, wax my legs but why? Why? Lol because the guys who made razors for men to shave their faces wanted to expand their market?..it's the only reason I can think of lol

It's because of what is considered " normal " by cultural norms

I believe it’s a cultural norm.

Very good question! Besides personal tastes and pleasure, there is no perfect answer. From my name, you know my preference. That is not always the case though as no hair can be very sexy and tolerable.

While Wikipedia isn't a valid source...it is great for giving you a jumping off point.
European tradition was that women had hair and they didn't get rid of it. This changed in the 1920s when it became a standard within a short time period.
