Hiya,

1)Recently, after gym, I don't feel sore like I used to. Does it mean I'm not doing enough? It can mean a lot of things. It can mean you're not going 'hard', but that all depends on your why you're going to the gym in the first place! It can also mean that your body/mind is adapting to the sequence - which isn't a bad thing - so it's knows what muscles are coming into play.

2) When I work out I think about everything but working out. Does it affect my trainings? Cuz I'm not focused? But I really can't shut my mind off. Again, depends on what you want to train for. You hear all about 'mind/muscle' connection, and in that respect it will affect your training. Putting these first two points together, with a going through the motions - with greatest respect - that would indicate that it's not hard for you. Few options here - increase weights, increase range of movement on exercises (deeper in squats, arms to parallel on lasteral raises etc).

3) Do I have to push myself to failure in each and every sets? Cuz sometimes I do like 10 reps and I can do more but I stop. Is it bad? Generally, look at point 2 again. No, you don't have to do failure on each and every set. Do that on the last one. Do rest/pause (rest 10 seconds before going again) sets or, and I am guessing here...you are having long rest between sets/exercises. Have a stopwatch or timer. Give yourself 30 seconds - no more - between sets and exercises. No looking at your phone. Drink water.

...and...you should be golden!

@Simplyme33 @AmberDuponte Wow take about having long term goals in place, Very impressive.

But on a serious note, I totally agree with Amber

That's normal.

Try lifting more than usual and focus on the muscle you are working on. Try doing it in front of the mirror

Increase the weight and follow 2nd point

@Royricky09 thank you.
Not feeling sore doesn’t mean your workout isn’t working. Soreness often fades as your body adapts, and it’s not a reliable measure of progress. Look instead at whether your reps, weights, technique, or overall strength are gradually improving.
@Simplyme33 Fair enough, I’ll keep my jokes within the boundaries and my reps within the set

I don’t go to the gym much anymore but I am a qualified personal trainer.. so I’ll give my input.

1. Your body is getting used to the workouts, it’s good because you’re getting stronger and fitter, but the soreness is an indication of your muscles growing, so I would say to tweak your plan to push yourself a bit more. Adapt your workouts to make them harder.

2. Short answer, yes, you want to focus on what you’re doing, every little thing from breathing and posture can effect your workout.

3. Absolutely not. Pushing yourself until failure will burn you out, its better to focus on reps and sets, more reps less sets for weight loss, less reps and more sets for muscle gain.

@Revanchist thank u so much🙏
I hope I dont bore u with my questions, but should it be a sliw long breath out or sharp big one? Cuz I heard it both ways Idk which one is correct
