Dear gym girls and gym guys ,

I have a few questions, would appreciate ur opinions.

1)Recently, after gym, I dont feel sore like I used to. Does it mean Im not doing enough?

2) when I work out I think abt everything but working out. Does it affect my trainings? Cuz Im not focused? But I really cant shut my mind off.

3) Do I have to push myself to failure in each and every sets? Cuz sometimes I do like 10 reps and I can do more but I stop. Is it bad?

That's normal.

Try lifting more than usual and focus on the muscle you are working on. Try doing it in front of the mirror

Increase the weight and follow 2nd point

I don’t go to the gym much anymore but I am a qualified personal trainer.. so I’ll give my input.

1. Your body is getting used to the workouts, it’s good because you’re getting stronger and fitter, but the soreness is an indication of your muscles growing, so I would say to tweak your plan to push yourself a bit more. Adapt your workouts to make them harder.

2. Short answer, yes, you want to focus on what you’re doing, every little thing from breathing and posture can effect your workout.

3. Absolutely not. Pushing yourself until failure will burn you out, its better to focus on reps and sets, more reps less sets for weight loss, less reps and more sets for muscle gain.
