Will you spend your life working out?

I joined my first gym at the age of 21, way back in 1981. I have been consistent ever since.

Gyms have changed a lot over the years. Gone, are the days of people asking if they can
"Work in" with you, or asking if you need "A spot" but that's OK.

At 65, I'm the Old man at most gyms now. Hopefully I am an inspiration to some,
and show that you can stay fit your whole life.

I ride dirt bikes on the weekends, and I'm able to do more things than many people
half my age. It is a commitment, that has helped me through many difficult times.

You only have one body, take care of it, and it will take care of you, in many ways.

Yep. Workout five days a week, and will always continue to do so. It's all about enjoying physical freedom and that empowerment it brings. Especially in retirement. I certainly plan on enjoying my golden years, and not spend it in doctor's offices.

@PrincessVelvet That is a great attitude. It mirrors what I have said all my life. I remember 40 years ago
a guy telling me, "Just wait until you are in your 30's, you will stop working out" I didn't, and at 65 I can still
do everything I did in my 30's. Well, most. I used to backpack up large mountains, carrying a 55lb pack.
It would be very hard to do at 65.

But working out still allows me to hike, and ride my dirt bike in the mountains.
Exactly! I'm 50 and although I haven't been going since I was 21 it's been a lifestyle choice and only death or quadriplegia could stop me now.

@Nihiless Yep, that is the only thing that would stop me too. You have made it a habit,
like myself. Keep up the good work. The older you get, the happier you will be for sticking
with it.
