@Ashly indica is what you want. :) I think it's getting harder to find a pure one though, so an indica-dominant hybrid. If you want an instant effect, get something you can smoke. If you want something that takes a bit longer to get set in but then lasts longer, get edibles. :) Also make sure they don't give you anything too strong since you're new to it. :3
