@sstronaut I’m keeping my nephew out of my sister’s hair so she can have a day off. A few days ago he spent $350 through the App Store on my sister’s debit card 😬
So a few of us got together and gave her money, and are having my nephew do work for us to pay some of it back. I don’t really have much work for him to do. Hang up some laundry, and wipe out the interior of my car. So I decided I’ll let him cook breakfast and lunch. I had to choose recipes that a 10yo can manage.

@itsok Is your sister on here? I remember someone being PISSED at their son ... though I thought the son was older than that.
Could your sister reject it via claiming false charges as she wasn't the one that used the card? And get the charges reversed?
Oh, but it's a debit card 😬 that's going to be harder to do, credit card would of been much easier.
Any clue which app he did it on?
Hmm 🤔 this might be an absolutely horrible idea, but have you considered asking SW what chores they were force a 10 year that's being punished to do?

Or force him to be a model for what ever products you're selling, even if there is 0% chance you'll use those pictures, hopefully still a punishment and forcing him to do work.
Clean all the pets poop and stuff.
Polish all the unimportant shoes (maybe a horrible idea)...
Wash the car.

@sstronaut my sister isn’t on here. I wondered about getting the charges reversed, but it is harder with a debit card. Also, it’s was like 4 different apps. Most of them were roblox. I think if he did it all in a day maybe Roblox would be willing to reverse it, but the charges were spread between March 27th and May 20th when she caught it, so I kinda doubt they’d do it.
I don’t want to make a post like that, because there are quite a few people on here who fetishize child punishment, and I don’t want to encourage it.
I don’t have any gardening work, but my dad is having him help with his garden, and my niece is going to have him pull weeds.
I also think forcing someone to have their picture taken feels icky. I’d prefer him to have more of a concept of what it takes to earn money instead of just shaming and humiliating.

@itsok I don't know enough about debit cards, but I would assume that you have so many days to argue or reverse the charges and maybe she could still reverse the May 20th charge.
Also, request a refund from Roblox (they'll most likely say no) AND also consider, a possible suspension of his account for improper use of other people money, which might be the worst punish you can give, and you can blame it on Roblox actions, not your punishment actions.
Oh, but didn't there used to be a way to make a post so that only your inner circle could see it? Though maybe that was VIP only? 🤔

Make him be someone's workout body? He has to keep encouraging them, while they work out and maybe he workouts with them.
Walk the dog?
Not sure if he has access to the internet, but maybe make him research something? Which would both be a chore, and a learning opportunity...
Which I would care more that he learns how to research for school, more than learn about the actual subject matter, of course, I guess that depends on what the subject matter is.
Maybe research jobs a 16 year old can have, and what he wants to do to earn his own money, etc.
Volunteer at the local animal shelter?
Though, they usually make you wait for training... but if y'all just explain he's being punished, they might let him help clean the cages. Or a local pet shop.
