Mini fridges are a total trap because they actually fight the laws of physics. Because of their small size, they have a ton of outside surface area relative to the tiny space inside, meaning warm room air is constantly leaking in the mini fridge paradox. To fight that heat, they have to rely on cheap, overworked mini-motors and thin insulation. While they use less total electricity than a giant kitchen fridge, they are incredibly inefficient for their size meaning you are paying way more energy per square inch just to keep a few drinks cold.
I had two different type of mini ones that were mainly for drinks. Both crapped out after 6 months. One was about 100 and other was higher. But I'm sure they improved over the years. We have one at work that is like a wine fridge. And that one actually is very good
@AbsolutelyFabulous Apparently really small fridges are different to normal fridges as they don't run on a compressor - so they are really quiet.
The drawback is: they arent as 'chilling". So ....you can't expect the same type of cold performance from them as a regular refrigerator. Ambient temperature WILL affect them.
So maybe make sure they are kept low to the floor, not up on a bench where its warmer air?🤷♀
