How do you deal with a 17 year old girl who's pretty convinced rules doesn't applies to her? [I Have Teenagers]

She constantly tells me that I'm lame and old fashioned because I simply don't allow her to do as she pleases. She's leaving for college in the fall and all she ever says is "I can't wait to go to UCLA and do as I please"

One assumes you still feed her and house her..There is your problem....\\\

Having spent some time watching the commentary here, I now have something to say.
First. You created this monster by how she was brought up. So you will need to take a real look at that. In the end, you have the choice of how to deal (or not deal) with it. But my advice whatever you do is keep your cool. and stay calm throughout. Teenagers specialise in exasperating parents. TV teaches them this to Olympic qualifying standard. The only way to outdo them is to be immovable once your position is dug. Oh and be sure you are removing something they absolutely MUST have. Who covers her phone plan?
Just make a list of the things she isnt getting anymore until she learns to be human and not some entitled little B**CH...
But I do agree with an earlier comment that if the real hard yards had been covered when she was younger, you might not have the problem now..
