Does your neighborhood have that one guy whose gasoline powered lawn tools are Viagra to him?

My OCD neighbor mows his lawn every day. EVERY FKN DAY!! He runs the weed eater 4 times a week. He edges his sidewalk three times a week. He mows in back around his firepit 3 times a week. He mows along the alley around the entire neighborhood twice a week, and he circles the neighborhood with his leaf blower, two laps, blowing off the sidewalks and the alley 3 times a week.
He also takes it upon himself to mow the other neighbor's yard when HE thinks the neighbor's grass is too high.
Otherwise, he's a good neighbor.

Yeah and he lives right next door to me. 😠

@Degbeme Yep. This guy lives in the adjoining yard.

@4meAndyou He has been married and divorced 4 times. I graduated HS with his older brother. When I asked how the brother was doing, he said that they don't speak and that he (Mowin' Mike) was the black sheep of his family. No wonder. 🤣

I wish! I'd love to have a neighbor who mowed my lawn and blew the debris off my sidewalk. My neighbor has landscapers every week, and they blow debris all over the place. They also let their dog poop on our lawn. They pick it up, but still, eew.

I do hear some like that within earshot sometimes, like Tim the tool man from Home Improvement!!
Horace · M
@Adroneandastrain EXACTLY!! 😂
candycane · 36-40, F
tell him to plant a garden
4meAndyou · F
@candycane Yeah...THAT would keep him busy night and day!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Even more than gas based powertools, grinders, drills and compressors. He's grinding (from the sound) metal rods as we speak
Horace · M
@Elessar Compressors are the worst.

You seem to have identified the problem: OCD. Up to a point it's good to have a helpful neighbor, but he needs to understand other people's boundaries. Literally.

@Horace I had a neighbor just like that. The woman he worked for owned several houses on the street. He would mow every one every other day and weed trim them all. He did have a winter obsession, though. He would even shovel the snow while it was still snowing. It changed with each season in the fall he would blow his leaves twice a day. It was so bad he would have a friend of his shine his car lights on his lawn so he could blow the leaves. I have been woken up at 2:00AM from the sound of a leaf blower.

@Slicker1962 Nutcases. They help make the world go 'round.

@Slicker1962 At 2AM nothing's funny. 🫤

Lol! Yikes. Sounds obsessive for sure.
Must be hard to tolerate. Thankfully I don't have that here.
Horace · M
@Magenta Oh he won't mow it. I made that clear to him last summer. When I mow, I direct my clippings to the center of the yard and then rake them. Well, he came over with his leaf blower when I was in my house and started blowing the clippings all over the yard with his leaf blower, because that's what he does with his clippings. I let him have it (politely),
He said he was "just trying to help out".
Magenta · F
@Horace Wow. How intrusive.
Kudos on being polite. I may not have been.
Horace · M
@Magenta I was polite because he's a decent guy and a good neighbor, otherwise. If he was a general ah0le, I would have probably kicked his arse. lol

Must be in retirement and bored
Horace · M
@HumanEarth Yep. He's 60ish and retired navy. He shines and polishes his mowers and tools when done. I have two nicknames for him. "Shiny", and "Mowin' Mike".😂

Needs a hobby
