Someone explain this to me.

I read a post about a person who hid her VIP status to catch this other person checking her profile. As I understand it VIP gives you the power to see who checks your profile.
To what I think ok whatever who cares?
But also if I hide my ViPness the person checking the profile doesn't know that I know that he's checking?
To what I say again? Who cares? Why not all in the open?
What I'm missing here?

I could care less who checks my profile. All I wished they would do when checking is to read my about me section before getting all sexually worked up and PMing me off of my profile pic alone.

If I have VIP I can see who checks my profile . And if I hide my VIP I can see who checks my profile and they wouldn't know because they don't have VIP.
To me that reminds me of the Gollum character.

vip also gives the ability to hide your views of other profiles.

but yeah, its all weirdly high-school level drama.

@CurrentName i dunno. its weirder to me that to be able to see and to hide that you see are both one thing. if that makes sense. e.g id expect being able to see to be fre tier and a pricepoint to maak it. but to make it a selling point that you can see who hits your profile and also hide viewing at the same level.. salways felt like a shortfall on scruples.

Of course. I completely understand.
But there's something insidious about it tho. And I can't put my finger on it.
Let's say...
I can appeal to either something good in people or something twisted.
I can say...VIP allows you give gifts for free. Or it lets you make "party rooms" for you and your friends..
Or..
I can use something twisted, the ability to sneak up on someone's profile without them knowing and the ability to see who looked at yours.

Then I'm going to make them pay for it so that those without it see the whole twisted mess as desirable.

Something that I would never think of using but once I have it of course I'm going to us it.

Does that make sense?

For example, while I'm responding to this I might go check your profile to see what you're like.
You could be like the 50/60 is half guy, or some political nut case, whatever..
Tomorrow I might Interact with you again and forgotten that I've checked your profile, so I might check it again and think...oh yeah, she's cool, or...oh yeah. It's that jerk.

Maybe I don't understand what stalking is?
