I don’t mean like close it permanently, just to have an option to stop incoming messages for as long as you want. Like your whiteboard.

It is not an issue for me as a older guy. Occasionally I get a message from some unknown, usually says "hi, how are you". Ignore, maybe block. But obviously it's quite a bit different for women.
