Is that my fault, after all THEY asked me to be their friend ?

It’s a shame that “followers” just collect people here without really knowing them or conversing with them. Do they expect me to chase after them ?

It's not just SW, this is a problem that all forums suffer from, going back many years. What you describe is typical, and the best solution is to edit out those who don't fit your idea of a friend or follower every now and then.

Maybe they just enjoy the kind of things you post and add you so that you'll show up in their feed regularly. I don't necessarily equate someone wanting to follow on here as an invitation to extensive interaction. Not in all cases anyway.

Everybody is different in hour they chat here
But for a conversation it does take both parties & most people stop if the conversation doesn't flow or in real life gets in the way
