Everyone has problems. That’s life! SW formerly EP, is about talking it out finding perspective and asking questions; while puzzling out life’s challenges. Why are you such a “Debbie downer” this morning?
dpoet · 36-40, M
@exchrist I'm not even saying it's good or bad it's just a fact

@dpoet I apologize for seeming to judge. What you say is accurate. At least to an extent. My point is that sometimes perspective which can be found while interacting on S Dubs can be helpful. I use sw bc it is less mainstream (less visible) and I encounter (perceive there being) far less judgement here than other platforms

I respectfully disagree. This has been a safe place for me to express myself when I don't really need advice, I just need to be heard. And a way to support and encourage others without draining myself of what little I have.

Everyone has issues to varying degrees. And yes, if you're on SW/EP, you probably found it as a way to get support amongst people who aren't as judgemental.

Problem is the people that come here and want to pretend everything is easy. Whether it's because of lack of understanding or caring, those few people throw off the energy. Thankfully we have a block button for that.

Personally, I wouldn't trust or believe in anything if not for the few here that like me well enough to keep in contact. The people I find things in common with so I don't feel so alone and usually that's all I need. I don't really come here looking for advice, though I have gotten some very valuable advice, it's mostly the encouragement that is so profound.

I hate when people show up on here acting like we're all a bunch of screw ups. We're not. I think there's an honest, genuine, caring bunch of individuals I'm fortunate enough to know when I otherwise would never have met them IRL.

@ScreamingFox I like your perspective
I don't think there's any one with no issues - minus the dead, but then someone could argue their state is the issue. This place like any other platform can be a tool depending how you use it, I see a lot of people journal here ,offer others advice or just a lending ear,I believe there has even been financial support given. It may not be what you would find useful and that's ok but it's not for you to decide that for others.

@PepsiColaP will you send me moneys?

Everyone in life has issues not just on sw.
it's just how we navigate our issues

also, I I could help someone with my knowledge or my understanding then why not?
PinkMoon · 26-30, F
I've gotten a lot of positive advice from here. It's all about perspective. What looks broken to one person can be a valuable source of information to another. Having people share there experiences about something you're considering doing helps you avoid the mistakes that they made or replicate their success.
People who are struggling -- coming together to support others -- is a "problem" to you?

I guess we'll just tell everyone going to AA meetings (and the like) that they are wasting their time hanging out with other people seeking help.

😆

Everyone has issues and problems in the real world too even the therapists but some give sound advice don't they?
dpoet · 36-40, M
@Prettybratbi1tch you have a very good point
I prefer my help/advice come from someone that can relate.
Imagine being overweight and having a skinny doctor that knows nothing of your struggles tell you to lose weight.
@dpoet Odds are that slim person has no idea what struggling with weight loss is like. Sure there are people out there that have lost a lot of weight. And a few might be in the medical field. If you happen to find one, congratulations!

On that same note, I would much rather talk to a therapist that has experienced what I'm going through than one that read about it in a book back in school.

All I'm saying is that life experience is extremely helpful when offering or recieving help from someone.

I can only speak for myself but I will struggle to take anyone who has never been in my shoes seriously. I need help with the journey. I don't need to have a model of the results tell me to fix myself.

@SooperSarah would you want to learn driving from someone who doesn't know how to drive?
@dpoet I would want to learn to drive from someone that appreciates everything that comes with learning to drive and being a new driver. That's the differnce between a good driving instructor and someone that just knows how to drive.
Not all of us have problems. I'm here because Yahoo! Answers shut down and I found this. I'm here to laugh and have a good time.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
what do you want us to do!? we try our best to help!!
dpoet · 36-40, M
@Matt85 most don't even try. also trying achieve nothing. you have to actually help. also if people have all the same problem how are they going to help each others? you would need someone that has overcome that problem or that doesn't have that problem
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@dpoet cause people have all different problems. I see what youre saying though.
I just come for fun
hunkalove · 70-79, M
I like raisins!
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
That's a very narrow view point.
Hmmmm...nope.

Going to SW for advice is like going to the toilet for chocolate.
