For all the trolls or A-holes here...

And as much as people put down SW , many of us do feel it has a very positive side too.

I was talking about dating fears that petrify me again with my therapist and yet again, they simply nodded. 😕Offering no alternate way to view myself, mantra etc.
I will say they said "none of our flaws or strength should be compared against each other...we all simply have both."

But on the whole I'm struggling in sessions and not receiving tips or real methods of attacking anxiety.
I'll say there have been a few at SW that offered me more on that subject, and gave me uplifting words ABOUT MYSELF. I was beyond grateful for those members and words. So THANK YOU. SWEEPS...you have given me more than sometimes therapy can. 🌺💓🩵🌹

It's time for a new therapist, I had one that made me feel worse than better, but she was the only board certified shrink in town, and to get social security truthfully I had to prove I wasn't using the mental angle.

@NativePortlander1970 Yes I think it's probably time to stop therapy for a bit, or find a new one soon, thanks🌸 I'm sorry you experienced that ... Def should not feel worse afterwards 😧
@NativePortlander1970 yes! i was going to say the same thing. get a new therapist and perhaps one that will do cognitive/behavioral therapy.

@NativePortlander1970 Oh I meant I'm sorry you felt worse after your therapy. 🌼 I don't feel worse but I'm just not receiving any tips or methods. She's a good person but I need a new fit perhaps.
@Coralmist A therapist is supposed to uplift and encourage, to guide, not just listen and say "uh huh, ok".

@NativePortlander1970 I think so too.
@Coralmist Therapists are paid listeners, that often give bad advice, I prefer friends

@NativePortlander1970 yes, some here at SW have given wonderful advice to me. Therapists should give helpful advice or SOME tips on combatting depression, PTSD. I think they use the idea of it's the *clients journey* to just sit there and really not give true feedback 🙁
@Coralmist They never do, we are ALL here for You (((((HUGS))))) 😊🤗❤
