It really doesn't take much for someone here to be "offended".

And then block you. I was just blocked by someone because I simply asked a (very reasonable in my view) question about someone that was mentioned by that person that I did not know, someone named "Miram" and how the asker of the question was wondering if he'd have a "one night stand" with her. My response: who is she, and why should we even care?

You were rude.
and why should we even care?
Pambie · 22-25, F
@MsSwan How is that "rude"? I was asking why anyone else should care.
@Pambie If you don't think that's rude, then there's something wrong with you.
Pambie · 22-25, F
@MsSwan Or... now think of this. What is considered to be "rude" is culturally determined, and isn't absolute. I know, mind blown! 🤯💥
@Pambie Culturally? What culture are you from?
seaglass · F
@Pambie Rude again. Take your own advice, maybe? Or you could just take your blocks and carry on 😌
@Pambie You actually said "Who the hell is Miram, and why should we even care?"
Pambie · 22-25, F
@MsSwan Yes, culturally. I live in Australia, where most people most of the time just treat each other like they've known them for decades. We don't hold back, and why should we? In my view, being straightforward and honest is never "rude", but being dishonest certainly is.
@Pambie Well, now you know that it's culturally rude in the U.S.

Lesson learned.
Pambie · 22-25, F
@NudasPriest Yeah, so? Who is she, and why should anyone care? What's wrong with that?
Pambie · 22-25, F
@MsSwan Give me one reason why I should care about what is, or isn't, culturally appropriate for people who live in the United States? It's a weird land half a world away, a country that places profits above people.
@Pambie "Why should we?" Well, according to you ... "What is considered to be "rude" is culturally determined, and isn't absolute", so on an international multicultural website, how our comments might be received should be taken into account. It's not all about you.
Pambie · 22-25, F
@NudasPriest How my comments "might" be received by someone somewhere, isn't something I should ever have to worry about though. If people can't handle honesty, then that's their problem, not mine.
@Pambie Oh, sorry. It clearly IS all about you.

seaglass · F
@Pambie Yep. You made the post. You are in this thread still caring about something you say you don't care about. You care... about yourself
Pambie · 22-25, F
@seaglass This post isn't about me though, but about someone else over-reacting to a comment of mine.
Pambie · 22-25, F
@seaglass
Rude again.

How? 🤔
seaglass · F
@Pambie Are you thick? It's about a reaction to a comment of yours. It affected you deeply and now you're getting your negative attention fix. Yay, you!
Pambie · 22-25, F
@seaglass How did it affect me "deeply"? I couldn't care less who blocks me and for whatever reason, but I WAS curious about the reason why I was blocked in this particular case.
Oh, and you don't think that calling someone "thick" is rude? 🤨
@Pambie You cared enough to make a post about it.
@Pambie She didn't call you thick. She just asked if you were. Superfluous question though ...
Pambie · 22-25, F
@MsSwan I was simply baffled by it. I had no idea why I'd be blocked for something so innocuous, a comment so benign. It wasn't "caring" that prompted me to write this post, but confusion.
Pambie · 22-25, F
@NudasPriest Oh right, she (or he?) didn't actually CALL me thick, she/he just implied it. Right, that's not "rude" at all. Of course not. 🤪😂
Galanr40 · 61-69, M
@Pambie you are 100% correct Pambie...
