HOW-TO: Changing your post's "Visibility"

I've noticed people posting things as Publicly visible which might more properly be posted to a more select audience. This can help a lot, if you have

• online stalkers whom you block, but they come at you from an "alt";

• people complaining about your posts.

Since a lot of users might be unfamiliar with this, I'm offering this quick guide.

A) If you are CREATING a NEW post
This is the best way to set the visibility, because there's a point in the post creation prompts where you can do so. For this post, it's at this point:

B) If you've ALREADY created a post
For an EXISTING post, the re-setting of the visibility isn't too hard.

1) Go to the post.

2) Select edit mode. As creator, look for the pencil icon in the upper right-hand corner:

Click on the pencil.

3) You'll now see an edit menu:

As indicated, click on "Edit Visibility".

4) You'll now see the visibility options:

For maximum control, select "Private". This limits your post to those whom YOU follow. If you have people you've blocked coming back to follow you from alt accounts, this is the only way to handle the issue.

[NOTE: There are warnings about changing the visibility of posts. If you try to make a post MORE visible, you can have problems.

If you truly wanted that, you could copy the old post's info, make a new post, and delete the old.]
