When you join sites, like SW, do you have rules for yourself that you try to live by?

For example, I don't block people and I don't delete comments on my post, I don't care how vulgar or inappropriate they are. I also don't or at least try not to, resort to personal attacks on people. I have been blocked by about five users and have had several comments deleted, simply for voicing my opinion! To me, that is being a coward. I know I can be a little sarcastic and have humor people don't "get" but I've never been mean spirited or vulgar. Another rule I have is, I will delete your comments if you delete mine! I think that is fair. Do you have rules for yourself?

I don't delete comments either. I blocked 2 people in 8 years on here. One of them I don't remember why.

I think in terms of goals on sites like this as opposed to rules. For example

my goal when I first joined SW was to have private pm's and 1x1 conversations. Early covid it was to socialize and now it is mostly to be interactive on the forums (which I didn't do for years)

My goal on FB is to reconnect with friends in my past that I no longer live near. To interact in groups based on shared hobbies

My goal on LinkedIn is business networking.

My goal on Quora (which changed due to the sites changes) was to ask really smart people questions they were experts on and to learn from subject matter experts in areas I was under-educated on.

@robertsnj Excellent. I really don't have "goals", I just wanna have fun, meet new people and maybe learn something. Your goals are great!
