@Friendlyman64 My experience of newly retired men online has been that they suddenly find that there's a gap between their retirement ceremony and the things they have planned to fill their newly freed up time coming into effect.
Unfortunately, they struggle through that interim time and some become suicidal - so they fill that gap with EP (SW wasn't a thing back then). I tried to help him to get through that time as best as I could.
Going through that was eye opening for me because I had never experienced anything like it in real life. My step dad hated his job, so he pretty much loved retiring and spending his time doing carpentry type work at home... so it was different to see someone wobble a bit with retiring.
