That they've made the common error of writing "then" when they mean "than".

@ServantOfTheGoddess First, why would people confuse "then" and "than"? Are they from Norfolk? That's the one place I know of where those two words sound alike. Second, who says "different than"? The correct phrase is "different from".

@Crazychick I also don't know anyone who actually pronounces "then" and "than" the same (at least to my ear) but I know lots of people who confuse them in writing.

And it's not quite so simple about "different from" being correct and "different than" wrong; both have a long history and are still in use.

@ServantOfTheGoddess Believe me, nobody in my area says "different than". I've lived in the same part of the city for 37 years and I still haven't heard it used.
