Which sound bothers you the most?

@Eklipse Haha. One of my dogs whines a bit. I think she’s just old and always uncomfortable, poor thing. But man, it’s incredibly annoying to listen to her.

@WanderingThrough Could be. This one is just four years old. A babies banshee screams stil tops that incessant whining. Not sure why. Must be something in my head lol.

@Starcrossed My nephew does that. I often have to remind him to clear his throat because it drives me insane. It sounds like there’s gravel in his throat when he talks like that.

@StraCat I wish there was a 🤮 reaction. Usually I don’t hear this noise but I can’t handle sitting across from someone who does this. Someone I used to work with did this and I made sure to never sit across from her at lunch.

@CestManan I’m shocked how many people have to listen to barking dogs. You can get fined for that here.

Oh! Like listening to peoples “music” in public - headphones exist for a reason.

@WanderingThrough Some places have noise ordinances, where I live does not.

You see, a person's sense of hearing is about the only one others can assault and get away with it.
Pesky noises are the easiest to produce and the hardest to avoid.

So when people are loud with their cars, stereos, dogs, or whatever, I imagine they are just trying to "get even" with the world for all the frustrations that we all feel.

My neighbors have gotten better over time about letting their pesky dogs bark at least.

@CestManan YES! People definitely make these noises as retaliation. I notice it in summer when people mow their lawns outside of the hours permitted in the by-laws. It’s really pathetic behaviour in my opinion.

@WanderingThrough it’s against the law here too but a neighbour puts her dog out and it just barks like crazy.

She’s home too so how can she even stand it? I have called the police. She doesn’t do it in the winter but I will call again if it starts back up.

@iamonfire696 People get fined for that here. I’m always anxious if my dogs bark more than twice to come back in. Hold on doggo, I’m coming! 😑 They don’t do it often, thankfully.
