On this site, email and text with a couple, sent and received gifts and one calls once in a while.
Before this site...a long time ago, a group of us decided to exchange emails and phone numbers in case something happened to any of us. Eventually we traded addresses and all exchanged gifts for Christmas. One died from cancer.... one became homeless and I lost contact with her.... many years later, one decided I couldn't be a nice person because of how I saw covid and all.

@ProfessorPlum77 Yep. Her landlord decided he wanted to live in the house she was renting and gave her 30 days to leave. Last I heard, she had lost her vehicle and was paying to stay in a hotel. She was a lot older than me and received a monthly check, but I don't think it was enough.
