Has anything official been said about consolidating all these groups? Did it become too many to manage?

They are SO annoying and sure don't enhance the looks of this site. If I was just a newcomer and saw all that, I'd run the other way and never come back. lol It's just so unnecessary.

I posted about that last week but like you, have not seen anything official on it.

Yes. Originally when launched, SW just "acquired" the group structure that was on EP. If you were on EP, then you know this was a mess. Groups were user created and almost completely nonsensical.

So Andrew & Nuno announced a long time ago that they were reorganizing the groups but that it would be a long project.

I'm still getting 4 or 5 merger notifications in my notifications every morning... so I guess progress is being made.

Maybe they are trying to keep the spirit of Experience Project alive

i think a lot of it is to "clean up" many of those absorbed groups were "adult" in nature
and often quite specific

and all our creative answers, posts and responses are gone now
it is MY FRIENDS that keep me here

Anytime there is an update it is because the users demanded it. Yet most of the time the users you ask are all against it.
I trust what people say instead of what people say people say.
