From the Mayo clinic:
How much water do you need?
Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water.

So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is:

About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men
About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women
120 Oz = 3.55 Liter
its supposed to 6 to 8. thats too much. @Northwest

@Spoiledbrat I start out with 12 Ounce before heading out on my morning hike, and consumer another 32 Ounce during the hike, and then another 12 when I am cooling off.

I then do 4 shorter hikes during the day/evening, and for each I take about 12 Oz. The rest I drink while working. 🤦‍♂️
Thats why you drink so much you exercise a lot. needs do vary from person to person. you should have just said i exercise a lot. @Northwest
