SO quick question admins and moderators!

My recent post has been reported. All it is, me explaining my current situation and asking if anyone could help? There's nothing anyone's getting in return so it's not a service nor am I advertising for any company. My wife is essentially a charity case because we can't afford medication she needs right now, so I'm asking for help. There's no equal exchange and people can choose to help or not. It's only one post too so I'm only asking once.

I have read the terms of service twice and don't understand why people are reporting it, nor has anyone said anything on why it violates the terms of service. If it does, I'll remove it. If it doesn't, it'll stay.

I hold absolutely no ill will to you and I don't want it to sound like I'm accusing you of this, but I've had someone here try and scam me for $$$ before and they used a relatively similar method. I can kind of understand people assuming the worst when someone anonymously asks for money to help with a personal crisis they're facing. I know it's cold comfort, but I hope the two of you stay afloat, that's some dark shit right there.

@XReaganX personally I don't consider it a commercial activity or dangerous request. Gofundme is a well known platform to handle payments responsibly. Other team members may disagree and delete the post, but I doubt anyone would limit your account over it, even temporarily.

Since this has been thoroughly discussed, if nothing else, pray for me. I've applied to dealerships and established garages (if you don't know I'm an automotive technician) and looked for better prospects so I can get myself to a better place to help support us even more. That way when she needs her medication, I have a savings built to accommodate that. But pray for a miracle for the now because the sooner she gets her medication the better. All I'm asking for now and it's risk free.:)

It's funny, yet when this site was not even two years old this type of post wasn't really an issue if it was what I think it was (no longer there).

I made a similar post trying to sell some guitars and amplifiers. No one reported it then.

@Butterflykisses24 I have, I need to investigate it further though to see how I can make it more public without running into issues like this. They could also mark it as advertising and charge me for it. Go figure. If I had that kind of money, I wouldn't be asking for help and my wife would be ok. 😬

Well, because the masses are unhappy about it and anything can be misconstrued even if there are guidelines, I'll take it down. Thought I'd give it a shot but I'm not looking for trouble with anybody, especially since I've been here for a very long time and enjoy the company of my friends.

If we are told in inbox to not send money to other people... do you think that the GoFundMe link could be the reason, given that it is essentially asking for money that SW itself advises that we not send to other members??? 🤔

@MarkPaul fair enough, it would be if I made it incredibly uncomfortable to give. But I'm not being aggressive about anything. Same argument can be used for people who sit out in front of grocery stores asking for donations because they put you on the spot.

@XReaganX And, if those people don't have the prior permission of the grocery store (owners of the business), they will be reported and subject to removal. It's probably the same thing here. This isn't intended to be a place to sell things, ask for donations, or use it as your own property.

Personally I don't see the harm of your post. There is no pressure on anyone to donate it is a request.
