Disappearing DMs?

Have you ever had messages disappear from youre inbox that you yourself did not delete?
I have messages in ny inbox from years ago from peeps who left, or even got banned...but the messages are still there even if the username is no longer displayed.
I read a post earlier from someone claiming messages off a certain user had disappeared.

Is this likely? Has it happened to you?

No never to my knowledge. They stay there until you archive them.

One caveat...

Maybe you could "see" a message on your inbox page but not open it. The other user could edit it before you read it then when you went back you might think it had gone.

@SW-User ive never seen it hapoen either. I dont think it can happen....thats why i asked. Someone i spoke to on a post a few days ago insisted hed been having a nice chat with a member who appeared to have left. He said he couldnt find her and we told him he only had to click on the messages in his inbox and if she was still here it would take him to her. If it didnt, shed gone. But he insisted the messages had disappeared into thin air.
