I think the stories and questions should be collapsed and the categories expanded.

A couple of times I've wanted to award a Best Answer but couldn't because what I'd posted was a story, not a question. However, many "questions" are in fact stories. The award should be for best response, not best answer, assuming we continue to divide things into stories and questions.

The groups were meant as ways to find people with similar interests and experiences, but it really isn't any different from questions in practice
