Why are some people on this site so rude and abusive, and when I call them out on their behaviour they become worse?

What is wrong with these people? Why can't they be civilised on the Internet?

It's the Internet. Keyboard cowboys with keyboard courage.

People who don't want to interact with other people should stay OFF Social Media sites. Of course, this is America, freedom of speech and all that, but there is no call to be outright rude to someone you may never meet in person. I responded to one comment, the poster responded, I answered her back - then she said something else and told me, "Now will you get off my post?"

I said nothing to take offense of or for, but I complied with her request.

@MaryJanine I totally agree! The problem is that some people get on social media precisely to interact with other people by insulting them and putting them down, and others like the person you interacted with seem to think they actually "own" their posts. It's sad, but true.

Either that, or one tries to outdo the others by filthy comments and double-meaning personal questions or replies. If you want the baby, you have to take the squall that comes with it. But remember, there is no guarantee whoever is responding or reading your postings may not be of adult age. This is when people who are supposed to be guardians of minors give them free access without any attached filters to "block" inappropriate information. There is a difference between 13 or 14 as opposed to 18 or 21.

@MaryJanine Good point, but even many adults have the maturity of 13/14 year olds especially the kind of people we're talking about.

I get you, but I'm referring to the posts that actual 13-14 year old kids read AND RESPOND to, not knowing that stuff that is not meant for them. I have seen graphic posts that underagers have struck up conversations.
