Personally to answer your post, I am indifferent at this point. There might be reasons behind this update that we aren't aware about, and this is only first step. We will see, and as usually I think people will adapt as soon as they get used to it. Right now it's confusing to look up links placed differently than previously, just like we used to have a direct link for the questions and stories but now it's a drop down menu.
People are in general conservative and averse to change or innovation and holding on to tradition/what's familiar. Looking back in history bigger changes have been made and we should just let admins take the feedback and then do as they think it's best for their site/our community.

And no, you weren't respectful towards @SW-User. Five times she had to try send you her message of intents and how the entries inside her post should be seen. You neglected them each time, not based on logic, nor reasoning but merely your own subjective opinion. It's nothing new from your side. We can find dozens of threads with the same behaviour towards those that will disagree with you.

Simply tell what you think of the design change, which you did and then let others think differently than you. Or, tell them why you think they're wrong by going into their points and tell them with content why so.
