Yea. What's going to happen in the negative if you use your real photo? Most people are easily found on Facebook if you have their name. I don't get this early internet leftover phobia of using your real photo online.

I've found to get more PMs and friend requests when I have me as my avatar vs a cartoon.
I also get more if I keep my availability showing, if you're a female, and the older age group you're in the less you get. I can't say for not showing age group as I don't SW or EP like that, but I think they get less. If you're posting pics of yourself in stories or answers you'll attract PMs.

I feel using a real photo of yourself makes it nice to see who we're chatting with. But it's not really a big deal tho.

If you're looking for a date, yes. But it negates one of the advantages of this site - anonymity.

It doesn't matter if it's real or not. If you have a picture up half the people will believe it's something you found online, the other half will believe that is you. It isn't the most critical part of the profile.

Mine is really me, albeit with some silly filter. I think it's more open and honest.
