The fastest way to kill a website, is to impose limits and restrictions on people with what they can post, what they cannot post and how many they can post.

@swirlie really EP is a good example of this.

I was a member there for 8 years. Could you expound a bit on what you are referring to please?

@swirlie there at the end I guess. My friend told me a lot of people left because they changed a lot of what you could post.

Actually, the exact opposite is true. Near the end (which was the last 12 months of EP's operation), anyone could post anything they wanted. The problem we had was that absolutely NO part of the website was monitored by the Admins during that last 12 months. It all stopped. As a result, EP turned into a gong show where every deviant alive could say anything or post anything they wanted to and nothing would be done, even if they were flagged.

The problem with EP, was that it had no 'adult' section. Everything was homogenized together, including all age groups. If you for example, did not want to see anything adult oriented at EP, you did not have a way to filter-out the adult from the non-adult content. Many members would then become very offended by adult-oriented posts when they did not want to see them.

People did not leave EP because of this oddly enough, because there was still over 300 members at EP on it's very last day of operation. Many of them came over here to SW. Anyone who left EP early however, had done so because of the wild west mentality that was allowed to prevail on the website which indeed was pretty disgusting at times.

I greeted them at your sidewalk in my housecoat wearing rollers in my hair... Never even bothered telling you. Just thought it was the neighborly thing for me to do...

Hope they treated you like a laydee lol
