I don't like working at my office. It is not because it is a bad place or anything. Its actually a good place to work. Decent salary, Not much work pressure, nice people. My problem I am so scared all the time. I fear everyone is talking about me , making fun of me. I am afraid to interact with people. I wonder where will I feel safe and comfortable.

So....what's the worst that could happen if you were being talked about? We are all talked about at some time or another. It is life. It is people. We all survive it. At some point we realize if people are that shallow they aren't worth even a thought. Just put your best foot forward, think to yourself that you are as good as anyone in the office and don't give it another thought. Of course it is difficult but it's time to fake it til you make it. Smile and just be you.

It's unfortunate that man is a social animal.
Many of us are introverted to some degree or other.
But you use words like scared and fear!
What is it you're scared of?
People WILL talk about you!
That's a fact of life when you work in close proximity to others!
Not because they are mean or nasty!
Just because they're curious!
They're curious about the man in the office who doesn't speak!
"Why is he like that?
What do you think he's like away from work?
Ever seen him out of work?
What does he do?
Where does he go?
Blah blah blah blah blah !!!"
And that's ALL it is !
Blah blah blah!
Get comfortable with being you!
My guess is this is a bigger deal for you than them!
You don't have to be sociable, you just have to be professional!
As long as you're professional. Let them say what they like!
But like I say. Don't take it personally.
They're probably just curious!

Probably nowhere because the problem is in your own mind. Not that it's not really happening, but the situation is made so much worse in the mind. I do the same thing.

I know....EightDown........I dont know what to do.....I am scared of meeting people. I consulted a psychriatist but did not help much.

I just cope with the feeling and try not to show it. As far as solving it, though, getting rid of it? I wish I knew.

I bet you have more confidence than you realise!!
You just watch others who 'look' like they have it in bucketfuls!!!
But for many of them, it's all for show!
They put on a show for work. Another for friends and another for their home lives!
But it doesn't make them the life and soul of the party!
In any group environment. You'll find "The bossy one." "The funny one" "The clever one" etc.
You just happen to be the quiet one!

But, that might be self-defeating... are you up to confronting your biggest fear?

That goes away. Have a kid and you realized all your anxieties are silly.
Why do u feel that way? Why are u scared?
