I would really love to adopt a kid I know I would be a good parent but I would want a son because I'm too over protective to have a daughter

Once you are awared of you being overprotective...you can take action. I'm sure it doesn't matter if it's a girl or a boy but I know what you mean. My father was overprotective with my sister and me. But he also was with my brother, although not in such a grade.
Surely, you are a very affectionable person and this is very good to grow up a kid. A kid learn mainly with affection and care. Feeling safe. And little by little, even when it hurst letting him being him and doing his own mistakes.
Noone is born knowing how to be a parent. Give you some credit to learn.
