Yes I know what you mean. I refuse to send pictures of the family including myself and do not wish to chat via a microphone. I take the view that people can chat on here with me or not. It is their choice. Ignore them as I do.

Same here ,but i have friends here on line I went at their homes and recently on holday in America my whole family met ladies and their families we originally met online at SW .

You may find this hard to believe Mombrit but it happens to guys too. I have lost count of the number of 18-25, F's who msg. me with next to no personal information in their profile saying they find 'older gentlemen' like me very attractive and maybe we should 'get together' some time. As soon as I ask what subject we last talked about their profile disappears altogether. I don't have to block them. As soon as I demonstrate that I am not a complete fool they lose interest. There is implicit risk inolved in all dealings on the internet, not just this site. It is still worthwhile being able to chat and share various experiences anonymously if you keep your wits about you. Fakes turn up everywhere in life, sad but true. It is part of the game. I do not expect Similar Worlds to solve the problem because Similar Worlds exists for the purpose of allowing atrangers to chat anonymously with a minimum of formality. That is the main attraction with it. If there are one or two scam artists who want to take advantage of everyone else they will be the biggest loser of all and it serves them right. My experience with Similar Worlds and previously with Experience Project is mostly rewarding and satisfying. I think that is most likely also true for you as well.

It's part of the anonymous online experience. Don't take it personally. Truth be told, after looking at your profile, I'd assume you were a man too.

Totally agree ,apart from Desmond I do not talk to any man on this site as they make assumptions and do not respect my dignity

i can tell if it is a man usually by how he writes, and his manners or if he sends me a picture lifted from the Web

I have had that a lot on here. I will show pictures of myself or talk on skype but not until i feel i can trust them and they are who they say they are

if you have spent a long time here you would understand why people ask for pics/skype but it's not the same in all cases

It is a form of grooming or stalking- NEVER send your address or phone number to anyone online. You can be found.

chats are chats. I find trust and maybe, just maybe a bit further.

Hello Mombrit 41-45, F. There's a few obnoxious people at Similar Worlds but the vast majority are not like that. You do not have to chat with anyone or prove anything to someone you do not feel comfortable with. If you just ignore them they go fishing somewhere else.
