Considering that trump is still a presidential candidate it demonstrates that the populous is okay with sexual assault.
There is also still a gap in pay for equivalent jobs/positions.

@Justenjoyit True, but you have the [b]choice[/b]. There are places where it is [b]illegal[/b] for a woman to travel unaccompanied by a male relative.

@bijouxbroussard Well I am just taking about where I live, plus if there is a war the poor young men have to fight so that probably balances up any differences

@Justenjoyit Our country abolished the draft after Vietnam and while young men do have to register with the Selective Service System our military has been voluntary since then. If the draft is ever reinstated, there’s a good possibility that women will be included (similar to Israel).
Women serve now on a voluntary basis.

Personally I think between serving for a tour vs having my rights abridged for all of my life, I’d choose the former. My grandfathers and uncles were drafted [b]and[/b] served in segregated troops. My father served in Korea, the first conflict after our troops were integrated.

@bijouxbroussard I am not talking about just joining the army, I am talking about combat front line action like in Ukraine where thousands of men are getting killed, I dont see young women having to do that.

@Justenjoyit well apparently Ukraine does have women at the front lines, obviously not in the same numbers as the men though

@bijouxbroussard Ukrainen women are free to move around, the men are not, maybe a few women are fighting the good cause. It would probably be the same in any Western country if they were at war

@Justenjoyit True, and women in my country are also beginning to serve in combat conditions. Personally, I don’t think anyone should be [b]forced[/b] to serve, and I’m glad that we have a voluntary military at this time.
