I feel like who is it embarrassing for exactly? People who see it or the person themselves (but they most likely don’t care).

It's "embarrassing" because we've been raised on a diet of p*rn and "Are YOU ready down there/up here?" type vomit/adverts that make women feel insecure about their bodies. The adverts are literally designed to do that!
Girls should shave or not but it be up to them and no one else.
And if you do, at least be aware it's basically because we've been told to by gilette, who were wondering what to do with a bunch of spare razor blades once upon a time.
