Why we should lower the age to vote and why it's a feminist issue that we do so (male allies needed here too.)

[media=https://youtu.be/yqTZZC3bjB8]

During this round of activism to end child marriage one thing that has come up is politician argue that raising the age to marry to 18 erodes parental rights and I just I see the men make that argument who are elected officials and I'm like Excuse me?

You really think parental rights are more important than protecting the children? You ought to be ashamed of yourself if that's true.

It got me thinking I've long felt the voting age should be lowered to 16 but for me, it was just that 16 is old enough to pay taxes and we fought a war to drive the British out over taxation without representation.

So I felt that 16 should be able to vote since they can get summer jobs and have to pay taxes.

But when I found out about America's child bride phenomenon and what the activist who are struggling to get age raised to 18 were dealing with it went down into my heart and animated me it got me thinking and then it just hit me all at once like lightning

If these child brides are old enough to be married they are old enough to vote.

The problem is that too many elected officials only worry about parents because kids can't vote adults elect them.

Now I'm an adult and I'm advocating that the voiceless be given a voice in our elections.

it seems to me that politicians think it's more important to protect parental rights than to protect these young women precisely because those young girls who are terrified of what their parents intend to do to them and are trying to stop it cannot vote.

I think protecting children and ESPECIALLY Women under the age of 18 is FAR more important than parental rights and that these politicians have the wrong priority.

But I do know one thing that would go a long way towards curing them of that affliction.

Lower the age to vote.

So I submit my slogan: If they're old enough to be married they're old enough to vote.

For once BTW I don't want anything from you for showing up for the voiceless. I just want it to stop.

Are you crazy? Hopefully, this is a parody. What's the point of being an adult, if you give away all the perks?
