Geeze doesn't anyone like the way they made tv shows in the good old days?

Really, nothing is funny anymore

I enjoy something like Fawlty Towers. I hate canned laughter being added to the soundtrack. I know laughter is supposed to be socially infectious but I prefer to make up my own mind.

@alan20 that's why IMO the best comedy shows have no audience or laugh track, they can have awkward or difficult humour and ride the line between comedy and pathos where an audience wouldn't know how to react.

@SW-User That's very true. I just don't find tv comedy funny these days. Even the ancient Laurel and Hardy's, despite having some dubious elements, are much funnier, e.g. "County Hospital".

@alan20 You might like CODCO, which was a sketch comedy show from Newfoundland in the 80s that only middle-aged Canadians know about. It manages to be funny and soul-crushing at the same time. There's a whole bunch of complete episodes on YouTube.

@SW-User Thanks. Might look into that.
