half the time when people say "be more open minded", do they really mean to say "have my ideas&

Many people feel that having an open mind means you are willing to accept everything thrown at you as truth and acceptable. To me that only makes you a fool.
Being willing to listen or try to others ideas does not mean agreeing with others ideas. I wish that was better understood.

Being open minded means being open to learn new things and be nonjudgmental of others who have different views, ideals, beliefs etc unless they prove you otherwise ! Being open minded does not make you void of opinion however !
