I'll take a shot. I'm laying in bed, in the dark, besides the electric blue glare of the dvr clock. Ac humming along behind me. Sky has gone from a deep blue of dusk to a slate and chalky black as I've been here texting. Fireworks occasionally puncture the surrounding hush.

mournful music drones in the distance, drifting through an open window mingling with the sounds of insects...
a subtle chill in the room speaks of a late hour..
the night passing in slow agony...
my thoughts stray to the coming days endless toil..
