Do you think tattoos make people more intimidating looking?

I'm thinking of getting both arms and neck done, but I was chatting to a friend of mine, I'm 6'2 and weigh 18 stone (no fat, not ripped either, just a big guy) anyway, he told me, in a joking way, that no one would approach us if I added tattoos to that. What are your thoughts?

Sometimes. I just think about how silly they will look when the person is in the wheelchair in their nursing home all tatted up. Can't stand tats.

@UTD99: Its just that I think that tats look silly on elderly people. Tasteless almost.
