Do you think tattoos make people more intimidating looking?

I'm thinking of getting both arms and neck done, but I was chatting to a friend of mine, I'm 6'2 and weigh 18 stone (no fat, not ripped either, just a big guy) anyway, he told me, in a joking way, that no one would approach us if I added tattoos to that. What are your thoughts?

there might be a few birdbrains out there who'd be intimidated but not too many. Employers are still freaked by them though...esp on a big guy.. So stupid.

@Fernie: Ah, I work in the pharmaceutical industry, and the lads I work with are covered in them (the place I work in, is grand with tattoos surprisingly.) And I've been bouncing on clubs at the weekends for 3 years now, every bouncer has a tattoo. So as a big guy, adding those tattoos would make me a terrifying bouncer lol.

@Fernie: look, I'm just about to go 22, everyone my age has tattoos, employers have to move with the tattoos craze otherwise they won't be able to hire anyone in 10/20 years. Just coz you're covered in tattoos doesn't mean you're bad at your job or representing the company.
Yeah, I already get told I'm scary by people standing in the line lol
