Why do religions prohibit their followers to have fun?

Ever been to a Jewish wedding? They party for days.

that now so
but there is an order for everything
and Christianity ,,what ever we do we are suppose to reflect Christ
but His first miracle was not to heal someone
it was to turn water into wine
Serving Christ should be a joy and its has nothing to do with a Church or Money
or what you have or don't ,,
its a relationship with a Saviour
We have fun ,,you can flee immorality and over indulgence and have fun
some may not approve of how I serve God ,
But everything I do I try to show the talents and blessings He has given me
and If I am looking like the frozen chosen
I wouldn't want that either
Sin is to willfully break the law the 10 ,and they are all love
and we are asked to refrain from being lustful and prideful like the world
but never did Christ teach we can't enjoy life
He said I have came so you could have life and more abundantly
to pour out blessing we can't contain ,,so we can bless others
if finding help in time of need does not bring you joy
you have only seen religion ,you have not met Christ
people loved and sought Him out ,He was not like the stuff shirted priests with all the traditions of do's and don't
and they hated that ,so they tried to kill Him
but you can't keep a man/God down

That's not true with Christianity. It's funny because a lot of people from the outside seem to think that. I remember one day a group of Christians were dancing at a party and somebody was like, " I didn't know Christians could have fun" 😂🤣🤗. Of course we can have fun... But what exactly is "fun" people have their own interpretations of what fun is. Most people enjoy sinful activities. And sure, sin can be fun. But, for Christians, we have to be careful not to fall into sinful behavior. But, there are plenty of fun things to do that aren't necessarily sinful.

@Lolco3: hmm, that's a good question. personally I don't like to drink to get drunk either, but that would be hard to answer since I don't know what your interpretation of "nice" " very nice " is.
Lolco · 36-40, M
@sweetiepoo: a nice buzz ... 4-6 beers
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Lolco3: Good question, honestly, I couldn't answer that at the moment. I mean are you intoxicated to the point where you don't even know what you are doing? I think that is the main reason why drunkenness not prohibited. but I honestly can't tell you what 4- 6 beers does because that amount can make some people feel "nice, some will be drunk and in some people it wont even make a dent. but I get what you are asking. I just honestly don't know the answer to it.

Mormon: Oh come on.....don't you wanna play rock paper scissors with us and eat little pieces of bread? We also play checkers but only if you're edgy and more on the risk taking side. I personally will play you in Yu-Gi-OH if you're up for the challenge hehehe

@HermannFegelein: grab a guitar and meet me in Daytona for the 4th
I'll show you not all people who love God are boring
we are going to throw down
Fish fry and some killer music
and one of the guitar players is a very good Pastor
We do more then play checkers ,
but we don't bring shame on the Body of Christ either
God gave us our talents ,and we love to show them off
I don't drink but there will be some who do there
maybe some who smoke weed ,
but I bet you none cause trouble or disrespect anyone
I am not going to judge others ,,I am going to play music with my old band and bring some joy to some poor people who are overdue for a good time
we plan to see they have one
and I will glorify Christ while doing it
they all know the Pastor and I love the Lord
and they show us respect, they keep themselves in order

@BlastEndedSkrewt: you don't have a guarantee of that!
@Cougarmilf: yes, but belief makes all the difference in the world

It's the religious leaders who try and convince their flock that fun is sinful. That's what happens when things are taken out of context and twisted to fit a belief system.

I don't know what kind of fun you are talking about but we have our moments and not everyone is a good follower either
GoldenWorm · 51-55, M
The fun emotions counter control. Also, they want to make your life so boring that religious stuff is fun in comparison.

the good ones don't prohibit fun...they just try to define what fun is.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
There are prohibitions? I missed that sermon. 😝

No sex (unless marriage 😒)

No music unless is some kind of holy Christian (or whatever religion) music 😒

No alcoholic beverage (fuccaoutahere)

No this

No that

Ummmm 😒
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@Lolco3: This list is not accurate (at least for Christians) We don't only listen to Christian music lol. Some people can be a bit extreme and legalistic on this one. but I personally enjoy a lot of different types of music. It isn't a sin to drink, however is is a sin to be drunk. Many christians drink wine and other forms of liquor without getting drunk. Sex, yes is reserved for marriage for very good reasons.
sweetiepoo · 36-40, F
@SimplyTracie: Great points but in reference to Christians still having sex before marriage, yes, while it may be true some Christians still so, it isn't pleasing to God. then again not all Christians are virgins, for they came to Christ after they became sexually active. Some are now celibate.
Lolco · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie: true tracie my emotions are going off from an extremist Christian roommate I had who saw beer as drugs & wouldn't even acknowledge me if I had a corona on my hand ... my uncle whose Christian isn't allowed to drink unless it's wine at church (true story I don't know if Christianity varies from church to church)

no snickers in their snack drawer

I think a better question would be why do people who despise discipline also despise religion?
