whats a good movie to watch scifi or thriller maybe action but no zombie stuff or vampires and no comedies , serious movie only

sci fi and thrillers are my favorites..I cannot find anything decent in either genre anymore...it's just gore. There is a new sci fi tv series coming on this July though...I hope it not lame
